I grew up on Evelyn Place (a block north of 183rd) off the Aqueduct, went to Tolentine, played on the rocks along the aqueduct. Went to Weber’s after 9:00 Mass and brought home the rolls and chocolate cookies (with the chips on the outside and granulated sugar on top). Played in University Heights Little League and since Tolentine did not sponsor a little league football team, I played for Our Lady of Mercy (Valentine Ave) up at Harris Field. Simple and great times

Hi Adriane, I lived on Davidson Avenue too, 2490. Went to St. Nicks along with my 5 siblings. It’s been so long and these pictures are so wonderfully sentimental to me too.

I have great memories of visiting my grandparents at Fordham Hill in the ’70s. My Mom attended Tolentine & Fordham U. I remember being 6 years old and sent off on my own to pick up items from the local market. I know the Bronx has gone through a lot of changes. What’s the neighborhood like these days?

We lived in Fordham Hill in the mid-to-late 1960s. And I’ve never found a cheesecake as good as the ones from Weber’s Bakery…and those black-and-white cookies, too. Thanks from bringing back some of my best memories!!

Tolentine Elementary and high school and played in Devoe Park as a kid. I also remember climbing the rocks a long the Aqueduct. I lived on Fordham Road and Grand Avenue. I remember Webers bake shop, the stores and all the Movie Houses. Best Regards
